Oliver Twist

Hi everybody!
As you surely already understood, he is Oliver Twist.
I did him few months ago for a challenge on making a Victorian Age character in ZBrush, that unfortunately a week ago was cancelled :( ...the only good thing is that I can finally post it (it was a rule not to till the end of the contest). So here he is!
He's my own concept and design, and I entirely made him in Zbrush. I usually prefer to texture in Painter, but for this one I had fun with the ZBrush noise and polypainting! It was great not having to worry about retopology, UVs and baking! Just sculpting and painting! :)
The part where I spent more time was sculpting the face as I did not have a 2D concept and I just experimented in 3D till I found something that felt right and I liked. Also the clothes were challenging as I had to study a lot of fabrics from real life to be able to sculpt them simplified but plausible!
The bowl and the spoon were modeled in Maya and textured in Substance Painter. Also the eyes were modeled in Maya but the iris pattern was created in Photoshop.
Everything was rendered in Marmoset Toolbag using as a base for lighting one of my 360 HDRIs I took in July that I hope I'll soon put online but that for now has some minor issues that I still have to fix.
I really enjoyed the project as I got to try out new things, got better at polypainting and I'm pretty happy with the final result. I'm grateful to Mike Hermes for the challenge, even if it was cancelled, for it was a nice inspiration and motivation to work on my own version of a well-known character as Oliver.
